I recently got hold of these gorgeous paper mache beads. They are smooth and hard as wood but very light. Fair trade beads from Kashmir, they have been beautifully hand painted and laquered.

It's a sweltering day down here in Melbourne. The temperature is supposed to hit 40 degrees Celcius although it isn't quite that hot yet. Since it is too hot to go outside I have been making some earrings.
